Renee completes service for California Lawyers Association

California Lawyers Association, once known as the Section of The State Bar of California, recently held its second Annual Meeting since spinning off from The State Bar at Monterery, California. At the Annual Meeting, Renee presented with fellow San Diego Bar Association Member David Majchrzak on Management Tips for Solos & Small Firms, along with the corresponding ethical considerations.
The event also marked two milestones for Renee; For the first, she completed her service as Chair of the Solo & Small Firm Section. Under her leadership, the Section developed a new mission statement, a new signature program (The Symposium on Solo Success), created new committees focusing on diversity and outreach, and collaborated with a number of new Sections and external organizations. It revamped its awards and awards presentation, it advocated for solo and small firm attorneys, and it began work on republishing it’s book on “How to Open and Manage a Solo/Small Firm.”
Renee also completed her service as the CLA Awards Chair, in which role she was responsible for bringing back the awards which had previously been presented by The State Bar including the Diversity Awards (Bar Association, Law Firm, and Organization), the Sondheim Award, and the Loren Miller Legal Services Award, as well as creating new awards such as the Excellence in Civics Engagement Award and Legislator of the Year Award.
It has been a busy year! Renee will continue on for one year as an Advisor to the Solo & Small Firm Section.
